Big awesome pizzas and fresh pasta. Kid-friendly. Someone who reviewed below complained about the waitress that doesn't speak much english but she was great - adds to the great atmosphere.

Tha place is setup like DOC with Italian speaking waiters and waitresses, the pizza was ok however nothing special. The pizzas were smaller than I expected for the prices and they don't use a wood fire pizza oven which is disappointing.
I felt it was overpriced for what you got, give me DOC anytime.

In a continent full of crappy pizza these guys are the exception. Real authentic good pizza here. I ordered the margarita, costs $12.50, worth double that. A perfect tomato sauce, fresh uncut basil leaves, great fresh mozzarella cheese. Just a real good pizza that would hold its own anywhere in the world.
Service was good. I may go back tomorrow!

Amazing food at this buzzing restaurant in the heart of Melb. The Pizza's are to die for- try the 1/2 margarita 1/2 calzone (amazing light doughy base and piping hot oozing cheese and ham inside) and the dessert pizza with nutella and strawberries is delicious!!

The service was attentive and we were quickly brought antipasti and wine. Two of us had the Lasagne del sud, others had pizza and risotto. All...

Just go!
Great location, excellent service and the food is amazing.
Floor to ceiling windows were pulled open on a beautiful Melbourne night. It was such a lovely place to eat, we will certainly be back!

39 is a nice Italian / Pizza restaurant. The food was great but the service was poor - rude, unfriendly waitresses. Recommend a table near the windows as the kitchen noise in the back can be a bit too much.

With family members visiting from overseas we wanted informal dining and great food. Our antipasto was interesting and varied. We ordered a variety of mains, including pizza, cannelloni and calzone with salad. Everyone loved the honest gutsy flavours. Servings were more than generous and our waiter was full of Italian charm and personality. Prices were veey reasonable too. We all...

Since we returned from Rome I have been looking everywhere for the flavours I had experienced in Italy... This is the best I have found so far. Really enjoyed this place

It won Best Pizzeria of the year in 2010 but it would struggle to make the finals this year. Snooty waitresses who, although very attentive, couldn't crack a smile.
The pizzas were tasty but both soggy in the middle. Not once did they ask if we wanted more drinks. Before we had finished our beers we felt we were being...
