“Just outside the Block Arcade”

Nice little restaurant cafe, as we exited from the Block Arcade. They had a large projector playing black and white images - which captured our attention. Quaint and very nice... The coffee we had here as well as the meals - were good. More

“Can be noisy but if you like authentic Italian in a cool location then you will like this”

Even though it wasn't a busy night the speed of service was a bit slow. One of our drinks orders did not get filled. But you can't help but like the friendly Italian staff and fresh filling food. Had the veal satimbocca and it didn't disappoint. They also made up a special salad for me which was great. Felt totally fine sitting there solo reading my book. Lovely friendly Italian staff as well. More

“Great place all around!”

When we first walked in to Olio we were greeted with the friendliest (but not pretentious )wait staff from this place. What a place to visit on our last day of visiting Melbourne. The great service didn't stop there, with great breakfast (made fresh) and coffees, we will definitely be back and this time we'll try for dinner. More

We were checking for a cafe in a crowded laneway (on the spur of the moment) for a light meal and found it in a very, very busy post-Christmas bustling inner city. With so many options for breakfast in this area, we chose Olio because it seemed to have great atmosphere - very Italian with Italian staff and decor. 2 families for a quick mid-week lunch during school holidays. The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and the food came quickly. The kids loved the breakfast choices available at lunch time on request. More
