A very impressive anti pasta platter, as well as a tasty risotto, duck fusilli and even an interesting chicken salad were highlights of our visit after the Comedy Festival. Although very conveniently located for evening events, Solarino was not particularly busy on a mid week evening and this showed later, as the staff lost concentration somewhat. Nonetheless, the food was... More

Went with a number of colleagues for an evening meal. Fairly tightly packed in, but still resonably good ambience. After an extrodinarily long wait for service, the waiters did arrive to take our food and drinks order. Drinks arrived over an extended period but the food all arrived at once. Luckily, the food was the saving grace as it was... More

The food was good, purchased through a coupon deal. We got an antipasto plate for two and a main meal each + a bottle of wine. Coffee extra. Antipasto plate was nice and presented nicely. Risotto of fig and duck sausage was quite nice, gnocchi with tomatoe sauce was okay. It was close to our Hotel and the staff were... More

My 5 friends and I had a pleasant dinner at Solarino. We all enjoyed our dishes apart from one friend who found her risotto was undercooked. Their speciality is the home made gnocchi which seemed to be a huge hit! The restaurant itself is quite narrow, I can imagine it getting quite crowded on the weekend, so if you want... More

We found Solarino in the Melbourne Age newspaper Cheap Eats guide, and since we were attending a concert near the cafe, we thought we'd give it a try. Melbourne is known for it's active and bustling laneways in the central business district, and Solarino is in a laneway. But active and bustling it isn't. You can see the street from... More
