Pop is one of those busy Hardware Lane restaurants that competes for you to sit down and the lottery is then who's cooking and who's your waiter. We never really felt they tried once we were seated. We had the usual mix of backpacker and student waiters but the kitchen seemed to do a great job keeping up with the... More

Menu didn't look overly great (everything served with potato - what is that at a classy restuarant?) but it tasted great. More

I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening with some friends. It is a very competitive market on Hardware Lane so any restaurant needs to be 100% on their game. The benefit of the competition is that the restaurants will all offer you some kind on incentive to dine with them. We were offered a round of drinks and a... More

As a fan of Hardware Lane this one missed the mark overall. Although staff were friendly. My meal was pretty much inedible, pasta was undercooked, lobster 'pieces' more more like scraps, one undercooked, one overcooked and just didn't bother with the third. I left two thirds of the meal on plate and no-one bothered to ask how our meal was.... More

After a stroll on Hardware Lane on a Thursday evening, the tapas selection appealed to my husband and drew us in. We were quickly seated at an outside table. The live music further down the Lane and the mild weather created a very pleasant atmosphere. We decided to share a serve of pork belly for entree. This was the highlight... More

The lane on which this restaurant is located, Hardware Lane, is very charming and authentically Melbourne. There are a lot of restaurants on the street, lots of outdoor dining, etc. I chose Pop from among the choices because it was affordable and featured some lighter dishes on the menu (I wasn't starving). Overall, it was nothing fancy, but it was... More

After walking up and down the laneway we were drawn into Pop with the offer of a free round of drinks (of our choosing). Service was friendly and efficient and our tapas plate was good value with some great tastes and was plenty of food for two. Overall we had a fun night sitting outside under the heater listening to... More
