I have frequented Old Town Kopitiam for three years now and used to recomemnd it to friends. It has a good selection of Malay hawker food and whilst it may have been slightly adapted for Australian palates, it seemed pretty good to me and attracted a large Asian clientele. Today's visit, the first in a few months, was less good.... More

Wide selection of Malaysian mamak-stall food like savoury roti, spicy roti, sweet roti. There's other dishes too, but the roti is the best value. Service is friendly and prompt. More

I travel to Melbourne on business regularly and this has been one of my favourites. This time, I had Nasi Lamak combo which was a mix of seafood and meat. I had the rendang and fried squid. The rice was squishy with too much water and the squid was pre-done and therefore soggy. The standard this time didn't seem as... More

Came here to get my fix of Kaya Toast, so pleased that Old Town Kopitiam had them, but not as good as the places we tried in Singapore. The Kaya was tasty but at least I know this place has them if I ever get Kaya Toast cravings again! Try it! More

After searching for a nearby restaurant on the trip advisor app, that was of course cheap and good value for money, we decided on old town kopitiam. It looked like a typical diner, full of Malaysian and Chinese locals, always reassuring. So we ordered from the kebab house style menu with unflattering pictures of the dishes. I had a tali... More

The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was electric. We had the seafood curry clay pot and a beef rendang, the favours were full and it was like stepping back to KL! The best and most authentic Malaysian food we've had since being in Malaysia. As per a previous post, the toilets are worth avoiding, but the restaurant is is... More

Customer service was a bit lacking, but the food definitely made up for it. Ordered fish curry, my friends ordered the Pork Belly and chicken curry. Very authentic food. Best flavours. Very affordable. This was the pick of all the meals we had in Melbourne. When in Melbourne I would definitely recommend if you love real, authentic Malaysian food. More

Concur with some of the comments, it's quite representative to M'sia style of hawker food. Some of the deco used are representation to M'sia style, like you can find pictures of Melacca & Penang. We ordered Mian Hun Kueh and Wat Tan Ho. Portion is generously big. Only comment is, bit of too oily. More
