At opening time, a huge queue and was surprised that our meal came out so promptly. Had salmon cooked in tajine, salmon fresh but the sauces tasteless. Hubby had seafood platter, all good but scallop tastes weird as had plenty of scallop before and this texture tastes strange. Overpriced especially when served with French fries and commercial tartare sauce. Not...

Very disappointed with the meals we had in this restaurant recently. My dinner partner and I both ordered fish and chips and whilst the fish itself (Blue Eye Trevalla) was cooked well and was beautifully fresh, the batter covering it was soggy and unappetizing and the chips were limp and soggy too. Pretty unforgivable in a fish restaurant. However, on...

This restaurant came recommended. Although very popular the menu was filled with old style, stodgy seafood which was VERY expensive. It was like walking back in time:(
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. Obviously we are disappointed to learn that you did not enjoy your experience with us.
On the upside at least, we came recommended and it was clear to you that we are a popular restaurant. We'd like to think that this is because the vast majority of our diners enjoy themselves...

My dinner at the Drunken Admiral was a large bowl of their excellent seafood chowder. It thick with seafood and accompanied by a warm loaf of bread and some excellent local wine. Colleagues enjoyed the scallops which are also always good.
We have eaten here on a number of occasions when visiting Hobart and each time it just gets better. We dined there recently and had a magnificent meal. Staff are fun and friendly and it is such a "good time" place. Yes the $$'s are probably on the higher scale (yet not outrageously so) but the food makes up for...

As soon as we walked through the door we should have turned around. You are welcomed by a ships cabin affair into what appears to be an unapologetic tourist trap. My wife said the salad bar was a tip-off, but still we didn't turn back. Why not, because we were too hungry and the reviews on tripadvisor were suitably positive....

There were a lot of mixed reviews on TripAdvisor about the Drunken Admiral so going there to us was a bit of a chance, well worth it. Arrived around 7pm with no reservation after being told off (in the nicest way) for not making a reservation we were shown to a table. The restaurant is all about ambiance and deisgned...

went in looking for a Rock Lobster dinner. WAs told that it was out of season. Went to Mures Upper Deck and got my Rock Lobster, fresh and it was terrific. IT was also very hot and uncomfortable in the restaurant
The food is very good here, especially the chowder, mussels and fish stew. Avoid the Hobart to Sydney or any large platters. Stick to the smaller boutique dishes.
The servers are slammed and don't expect prompt service (ie waiting for your bill etc). The the staff is super friendly and the food comes out in time.
We were stuffed but...
