This is the 2nd time I have visited the Drunken Admiral this year with business colleagues, someone else was paying so I had no concern about the high prices either. Last time a colleague had the Fish Market Chowder and raved about it - I had it for a starter and know why, it was very tasty, creamy, full of... More

Looked forward to this but ended up disappointed. Arrived 30 minutes early to have drink at bar and not allowed as bar seating for people eating. Returned on time to get seated ok. Meal very ordinary, better food at our local fish and chipper. Heaps of chips with everything but meals very overpriced. Service at table efficient and friendly More

Around the city of Hobart, the famous Drunken Admiral, is a place that with decoration like an old pirate ship. The crew is friendly, no pirates here. A hearty chowder soup warm you up from the blissful wind, large bowels of chips reassemble the big M, the stew could feed a few, the salad bar is free for all! Tailored... More

Did not book but were able to have a table for an hour and a half and at no time did we feel rushed or pressurized to leave. Service was friendly and helpful. Complimentary salad bar which was plentiful. Good food and good Tassie wines available. Enjoyable evening. More

Easily the best meal we experienced during our two weeks in Tasmania. All four meals at our table were cooked to perfection and such a fantastically quirky atmosphere. Would love to return soon More

The Drunken Admiral is decorated like the interior of an old ship. It's a bit of fun and has lots of things to look at. The food was very good - delicious seafood chowder, tender octopus and other yummy dishes. Service was consistently good. You could come dressed in shorts and thongs or in a ball gown, it wouldn't matter.... More

I was a little bit disappointed with the Blue Eye. I thought it was quite expensive for what was really fairly ordinary fish & chips with a salad bar. The service was very good though. More

Couldn't fault the dining experience. Only improvement would be to change the music to more seafaring tunes. More

It was my birthday and we ended up here. Enjoyed our seafood meals, with plenty of bits and pieces to look at in the restaurant. More
