I'll start by saying that we walked away from Sake unsure what all the fuss was about. We booked at Sake because of a friends recommendation but me thinks they had too much Sake. I had really high expectations, when I saw the menu I was surprised by the prices, as I thought they were reasonably good value for such...

I dined at Sake last week with my husband and his parents. Having been to Sake's Melbourne restaurant for a delightful lunch, I had high expectations.
The restaurant has capitalised on its prime location with a beautiful interior fit out. In line with their 'share plate' meals, we sat a long shared table with another party at the other end....

Sake staff know their stuff...they understand the japanese menu inside out and were happy to share and answer questions. If you want an unpretentious but funky vibe relax at Sake, the lighting is easy on the eye as is the industro-asian decor...ahh
The cuisine is wow and all pro, served with pride and a smile...sashimi and dumplings were some of...

Have been to sake many times and always a wonderful experience. Today we actually sent a dish back because it wasn't what we expected (Pork which was very fatty) but didn't complain, the waiter then came to us, advised the chef agreed it was very fatty apologies and told us we wouldn't be paying for it. All of this and...

But all that was marred by fast-food style service; the juvenile wait staff had no idea about the dishes they were offering and delivered them like a 15 delivers a happy meal. There was also an absence of anyone else in the restaurant, an atmosphere barely containing oxygen, and we dined...

We dined here on a Tuesday night and it was busy. We soon saw why. This is literally the best Japanese food I have eaten in Australia (Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Noosa and Melbourne to be fair). The 'Contemporary Japanese' focus, which could so easily fail, is done beautifully. Everything was spectacular - food, service, atmosphere, perfect.
We spend a lot...

- STUNNING RESTAURANT - wait staff who are just amazing - and very well educated - small servings - very expensive - quality over quantity for sure - one meal was $38 and was literally a bite! - allowed the waiter to choose the sake for us ($50/shot) choose it yourself! - amazing variety - would definitely go back.

Conveniently located in the waterfront Eagle Street Pier dining precinct, Saké is definitely one of the hottest restaurants in Brisbane. Serving contemporary Japanese cuisine by sushi master Shaun Presland and gourmet guru Shinichi Maeda winning the coveted Chef’s Hat in the Queensland Good Food Guide awards.
