Even though we dined at Le Pelican at lunchtime midweek and only two tables were occupied, this restaurant has the look and feel of a bistro in Paris. Our main courses, fish pie and duck, were full of flavour and piping hot. The strawberry souffle was light and fluffy, perfectly risen, with the full flavour of strawberries throughout. The waiter... We've been visiting Le Pelican for years, and it still remains an absolute pleasure to dine there. The food is wonderful! The menu changes according to the seasons, and the ingredients used are always fresh and excellent quality. The dishes are creatively presented and each dish is like a little work of art. If it's on the menu then I... More

As you walked along the street you could easliy walked past this restaurant. it is located in a beautiful sandstone building and the decor inside is tastefully simple. The menu is a no fuss French cuisine - having a steak there is definitely a treat, and winter i will recommend the fish pie and no do not skip the desserts.... More

We had heard great things about this restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice--not too fussy, but the restaurant is very attractive. The service was outstanding, and the lovely all-French waitstaff certainly didn't hurt the French dining experience. However, the food didn't quite live up to the atmosphere. We enjoyed the pate we had to start, and the salad dressing was... More

We ate here on a Thursday night, we went in on spec. It lacked a little atmosphere with a business crowd. Service was efficient but lacked warmth but the food made up for it. Amazing crab ravioli starter, mushroom risotto was very average and somewhat disappointing, perfect texture but lacked taste and depth. My husband had lamb which was beautifully... More

My daughter recommended this restaurant and it proved to be as good as she had said. Initially had some difficulty finding it as it comes up with the wrong address in Google Map, but we persevered. The food was wonderfully presented with amazing flavour combinations. A treat. More

This is our favourite inner city "local". It's a small, cozy and relaxed place in an interesting part of town, with some sidewalk tables. The Chef is actually French (which differentiates it from many "French" restaurants in Sydney). Small, interesting menu with blackboard specials, prepared and served with panache by very friendly and efficient staff. So good you'll want to... More
