This place is good, for a start it's not in the Rocks and therefore the prices are fair and not extortionate. The choice of beer is good and they are of good quality, even some darker English type ales! The meal we had here was good and the service fine. The pub has a pleasant atmosphere and when we return... More

Went to Lord Nelson twice for dinner. Food is good, with some interesting choices such as sake-infused pork neck - and so are the beers! The atmosphere upstairs (main dining room) is not the greatest, which is why I gave it only 4 stars, but definitely worth going for the food and the beer. More

Really good english-style pub with lots of atmosphere and a real buzz about the place. Good quality pub food downstairs. Try their speciality pies. The cheese plate is enough for two. Good beer. Worth a visit or two. More

We ate the traditional Beef Pie on Monday. It was juicy and filled with generous meat and veggies. It rested upon a bed of mashed potatoes. It was great! More

Has excellent atmosphere and pork pies. It is small, but not too small, great location. More

We called into the main bar for a quick lunch on our last day in Sydney. The beer that was brewed on the premises was excellent as was the draft cider. I had a chicken curry and my partner, noodle soup with dumplings. All were excellent. A great place for lunch in a pub atmosphere. More

Downstairs, it's a local pub, albeit with a micro-brewery installed. Upstairs, it's a better-than-average dining room, spacious, quiet, good food well presented... and not expensive. Would go back again. More

Lunch here was great with fantastic atmosphere. The Rocks Area experience at its best. Our meals were of a high standard and the service was excellent. Went with friends and we will be back. Highly recommended. More

This is the best and probably oldest pab in Sydney, up in the hill of the observatory, a walking distance from the Rocks. We go there often for the beer, made there and named after Nelson's life, which is excellent. The building, the ambiance and the custumers are onother reson for going there. The food, served upstairs, is far better than... More
