Scruffy Murphys has a bad reputation but upstairs they serve pretty good food cheaply - I have never seen any trouble there but we have usually gone before 10pm. Excellent British pub grub, especially the steaks. For 5 - 10 dollars I'd say it can't be beaten in Sydney from what we saw. As for the surroundings - upstairs where the food is served its a bit quieter, but its a bawdy Irish sports bar so dont expect anything else and you wont be dissapointed! More

I hit this bar at 7:30 St Paddys morning, to grab a Guiness before my flight back to Minneapolis. The staff were so nice I had 2. It was just a few steps to the subway stop and then the train to SYD. A great way to start the day! I even won a funny green hat to wear! More
