Food superb, though pricey. Surprised the barista refuses to serve 'skinny' capuccino. Only full cream milk allowed.

Truelly professional service mixed with the best blend of great food sensations and a really good choice of wines to accompany each dish
It is a little pricey so would not be a place that I would visit often

Had a superb meal at Universal. Nothing really to add that others have not. The ceviche was superb, the dishes just got better and better! But here's where their service was outstanding... I left my credit card after paying for the meal, and they dropped it off at my hotel!! I was so pleasantly surprised!! I'd like to thank the...

As a rare treat, my wife and I went with some good friends on a Saturday night.
I got the dud chair facing the wall but went with it. Started with cocktails, all good.
We each had three dishes, and every one was excellent. Pity though the lighting at night didn't do the dishes justice. It was a bit hard...

The setting is unassuming and casual, on a little tree-filled square in Darlinghurst. The service is impeccable but unpretentious and the staff are very knowledgable about the food and wine. Dining at universal was a bit of a unique experience. It's innovative menu us designed to be a 'create your own degustation'.
While i think it is over priced for the portion side, all of the food was freshy, tasty and offered something different to many other standard Sydney establishments.
Good service, great cocktails, dessert to die for.

Christine Manfield's legendary precision, flavour matching and style and come together in this courtyard restaurant in Darlinghurst. Spot on service by friendly, switched on floor staff and the mid week sighting of Christine herself greeting regulars and monitoring the floor makes for a quintessential Sydney urban dining experience. Worth every penny, and still wowing us twenty years after Paramount.

Even though I thought the location was strange and it wouldn't be if you lived right near the food was extremely good and innovative.

Loved this place. It's situated in a large public space on a corner in an inner suburb, walking distance to the CBD, Kings Cross and other tourist areas. 2 other restaurants share the corner. We were seated in a prime spot with heaters at our backs and looking out to the busy public corner and square in front.
Our waiter,...

I really like the way they've structured the menu. It allows you to sample as many of the fine dishes they have on offer. This is typical of Sydney's fine dining establishment!
