When we first walked past Mamak at about 6.00pm there was a massive queue all the way down the street. That peaked our interest and after we'd been to a show and down to Darling Harbour for a while we came back about 11.00pm and there were only a handful of people queued up. After a 10min wait watching the... More

Want to try everything on the menu but unfortunately cannot in one day. Although it gets busy the food is always served with perfection.

Always a great meal! Service was fast and efficient. Dessert was fantastic! Love the show the "roti chefs" put on while you wait...makes your mouth water...yum!

Walked passed this place the previous night and my wife was keen to try it. People were lining up so it seemed pretty popular. I have never eaten Malaysian food before so I was pretty keen to give it a go myself. We went early the next day (6:00pm) because we expected a long wait but were suprised to be... More

The roti (sweat and salted) are a delight. You can admire the cooks in the kitchen from the street while waiting in the line, which is usually pretty big. The good thing is, it goes pretty fast so you won't have to wait too long most of the time. Better to come as a small group. The curry are very... More

This was our second visit. There are no reservations here so you may have to spend a little time waiting outside observing how their chefs expertly craft the Rotis pastry. Its a relaxing place so no airs hire just good food, service at very reasonable prices. Definitely worth the wait and sure you will not be disappointed. All sorts of... More

They have really nice roti and satay dishes :) but disliked their curries! Too spicy not worth the money value!

We came here tonight after reading reviews on Yelp. We wanted a change from our usual Thai fare and the menu here sounded great. We stood in line for around 10 mins but having eaten here would happily stand for longer. We had nasi goreng , (could have been spicier , but was very good) , lamb curry ( stand... More

Twice we ate at Mamak during our stay in Sydney because the food was so delicious and so reasonably priced for Sydney. However, we arrived early in order to avoid the lines. We ordered the roti - truly legendary!!! It was fluffy yet crispy and soft, It came with three dips - dhal, fish curry and sambal each complex in... More
