Our bad experience started with the male receptionist at the entrance of The Tea room. Other off the street guest without reservation was politely let through by him without any questions other than how many people needed table for. When he looked at me and my friend from interstate, he pointed at the glass wall and said “Haven't you looked... More

I took an elderly coeliac friend for afternoon tea. The cakes and sandwiches were all (despite being gluten free) delicious and beautifully presented. Atmosphere is lovely and stately and we appreciated the fact that almost everyone was dressed up for the high tea - no blue jeans in sight. The only criticism I have is that some of the staff... My family recently visited the tea room in the QVB for the first time after receiving a gift card. The service was excellent. The waitresses were kind, helpful and would refill our glasses with water. We shared a traditional afternoon tea which came with a few finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and mini pastries and tarts, as well... More

Nice location for high tea and in between shopping in the mist of the city crowd. More

2 years ago, apparently you were served by waiters carrying large trays of food dressed in tails. Now obviously the recession has hit and you get a plate of sandwiches on crockery that looked like it was from the charity shop. If you can find a member of staff you they will give you one extra sandwich though don't ask... More

My cousin and I had a most enjoyable meal the Tea Room (QVB). The dessert was terrific, a dessert based on caramalised figs with ice cream. An old world experience not to be missed. More

One of the best spots in Sydney for High Tea. An old-style tea room, with crisp tables, great waiters, and elegance galore. The afternoon tea is perfect, and it's all so gracious. Highly recommended. More

Very busy, poor Waiter service. Refills were not offered & always had to seek the attention of a waiter & then wait 20 mins. Will not return. More
