The food here was acceptable, if not great. I had the banquet, which at close to $40pp does not come cheap. The tzatziki and tarama were, in my opinion (and that of many other diners) not home made and not great. Mains were OK, but very greasy and heavy. The dessert was not good, very stuffy. Overall, real Greek food... More

Quality Greek food. Attentive service. Competitive food & alochol prices for Sydney CBD. It is Greek so only go if you like Greek food. Selection of Greek vegetables with or without meats/mince. Building is an ex CBA bank branch so huge ceilings + pylons. Large Greek pictures. Vault is downstairs adjacent toilets. More

Went for dinner with my wife on a Saturday night, arriving early at 5.45pm. Not too many diners at that time but the large high-ceiling room soon started to fill. Check their website to see photos. George, our waiter was very friendly and helpful. When we were choosing from the Meze list he advised us to have half & half... More

I preferred the genuine Greek entrees such as Greek salad, dlomades and taramasala to the hot dishes which I found floated in too much fat. Globules of diners at large tables made this restaurant too big and noisy for me to want to return. The value of the food is high as the servings are large. More

Celebrating my husband's special birthday, our group of 20 arrived and was warmly greeted.and led to two tables of 10 each, beautifully set up, as requested, in the quietest part of the restaurant. Our drinks order was taken immediately, and Nicholas helped us decide on the menu (16 chose Banquet Dinners, and 4 a la carte). Briefly stated, it was... More

The lamb shanks are really good. So are the stuffed vine leaves. The selection of wine is not too bad and prices are reasonbale. More

I think I know greek food, & I love it. I did not order a main but stuck to vine leaves, spanacopita, haloumi & pita bread. I would rate all of these as good as I have eaten. The overall appearance, generous spacing of tables & attentive staff made it a very pleasant meal. I will go back. More

Dined at the Athenian with my wife and daughter. We have eaten there a few times, and the food is always excellent, the service first class and friendly, and a good atmosphere. Can not fault the restaurant, and recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney who wants to enjoy a great greek meal. More
