Our dinner was a selection of delicious dishes, served one after the other, in small portions -- scallops, soft-shell crab, kangaroo, prawns, lamb, and more. Each dish was tasty and well-prepared. Courses are served "family style" -- several servings on a single platter; each diner takes a portion, the serving dish is cleared, and the next one is served. There's... More

Rubyos is one of our favorite restaurants, superb service, really really good cocktails and great tasting plates that we share. It's great for Sunday brunch as well as dinner. My favorite dishes are the great salads, wonderful prawns and they do tofu really well for daughter who is vegetarian. Liz always remembers you and provides a warm welcome. More

My wife and I have been eating here on and off since it opened afew year.s ago, and in a city where good restaurants have become very expensive, Rubyos always satisfies. Surroundings are smart and clean and the mod oz tapas food excellent. We spent less than $50 a head. Oh and have a walk up King St afterwards. More

Love the variety of delicious tasting plates which means you get to sample lots of different flavours, one at a time. The service is always good at Rubyos. I've been there several times and it's always consistent. Friendly but not intrusive staff. More

Went for our Christmas lunch. The idea here is you order and share dishes, smaller than the usual main, larger than tapas. The dishes are creative and everything was absolutely delicious! More

Went to Rubyos last Friday night with three family members. We ordered six 'plates' of food that are designed to be shared with your companions. The first plate was calamari & it was well cooked & looked great and consisted of 8 pieces of calamari.. Things looked promising. After a wait of about 20 minutes we were served a plate... More

Took my parents and husband to Rubyos on a busy Friday night. We thought that the menu and restaurant looked great and had been meaning to try it for some time, and were looking forward to dinner. There is a small bar area at the door where you can wait for your table which is nice. We were only there... More

The waitperson was attentive and informative about the grazing lunch menu. We chose 4 items from the menu: smoked salmon, wagyu beef, haloumi cheese and garlic prawn. Prawn was uncooked, wagyu beef was a disappointment as it is minced and made into meat balls. It is quite pricy for a lunch More

Rubyos is a great neighbourhood restaurant - the menu is based on sharing tasting plates among the whole table, and covers the full range of Australian fusion food... The menu changes seasonally, but features dishes like butterflied garfish with dried roma tomatoes, whole roasted baby chicken, battered zucchini flowers, pan fried eye fillet of pork and seared deep sea scallops...
