It's rare to find a pure vegetarian chinese/yum cha restaurant at the best of times and this was a real treat. The food was delicious, not greasy at all and cooked to perfection. My husband loved it particularly because he could choose anything on the menu as they don't use onion or garlic at all. A rarity, a gem and... More

Visited at 5pm on a Saturday night. Although the interior is nothing special, the massive offering of vegetarian/ vegan/ faux meats made of tofu was impressive. We opted for salt and pepper tofu which was ver crisp, fresh and tasty, and miso eggplant and tofu, which has a very nice but not too overpowering sauce. For dessert we had black... More

This restaurant didn't ring my bells. Food was ordinary for Taiwanese vegetarian style. Most disappointed as did not live up to it's reputation More

I have been going to Mother Chu's for years, not as often nowadays as I used to though, but still make sure I visit every once in a while. When I visit, I never leave the place feeling disappointed. The price point is a little higher than their competition in Sydney but that is easily offsetted by the quality and... More

I first visited Mother Chu's Vegetarian Kitchen in 2002 and have continued to visit each time I have returned to Sydney. A hidden gem for vegetarians, the restaurant is basic, very clean and the menu is a vegetarian's dream .. an endless choice of healthy, quality, vegetarian food. The portions are generous, the food delicious, excellent value for money. I... More

I had been to Mother Chu's about six years back. At that time the service and food was very good and satisfying. This time, in March 2011, I went again and I invited my friends, a couple with a one year old child. After being seated, I asked the attendant, a young girl, that we need a baby seat. Seeing... More

Very central, so good location, if you're downtown. Prices are fine too. The food is very clean, not to be compared with your standard Chinese fare. On the downside, food can be a bit bland at times but it therefore actually feels like you're eating something healthy and I personally certainly MUCH prefer slightly blander food, than having tons of...
