I have been living in Sydney for about 6 months, and probably tried about 100 or so different breakfast places, and this is undoubtedly the best so far. The Targines are simply amazing!

Lovely food and plenty of it. Host was very accommodating, however general service was poor. Order drinks and they just don't come! The smell of cigarette smoke coming in from outside was unpleasant, as too was the freezing cold air. This let the atmosphere of the place down, otherwise it would have been great. Belly dancer was awesome!

We had been told this was a very good restaurant quite a few times by locals (and I guess the locals are in the know), so after intensive shopping we finally decided to try for ourselves.
We were greeted enthusiastically, offered decanted water with fresh peppermint leaves & the menu. We opted for the $29 lunch special of a glass...

Balmain folk are spoiled for choice when choosing a cafe for brunch, but Kazbah is always chockers. People are still spilling onto the pavement tables mid- afternoon digging in to the breakfast tagines and evil chocolate pancakes. I havent found the dinner experience quite as good, but breakfast is unsurpassed on the peninsula.

I visited on two occasions during my visit, one of them alone.
if you want to find some interesting flavours, this is a good place.
I found the service to be very friendly and attentive, had no problems.
Here is what i did not like from what I tasted - the entrees

We ate at several restaurants in the Darling Harbour area and Kazbah was by far our favorite. They were fully booked for Saturday night but we returned two nights later and had a delicious mezzes plate for three. Everything was very good, and my colleagues returned the next night too!
