Beautiful, elegant restaurant. We had the vegetarian degustation with matching wines. Unfortunately, the sommelier was sick on the day of our visit so we didn't get the same wine service with a flourish that was expected. Service was friendly and professional. The meal was very good, however a couple of underwhelming dishes (especially the optional cheese course) brought it down... More

A delicious, decadent dining room, with food to match! we had a set dinner with two options for each course. All of it was divine. The best bit was how they kept bringing little amuse-bouche treats between the courses! Highly recommend. More

The staff are well trained and friendly. Service fabulous. It is elegant and a very good selection on continental as well as cooked to your request. Good place to just relax over a long breakfast if you have the time. It can be busy on the wekkends but you do not wait long for a table and its worth the... More

We had difficulty getting a booking because the restaurant didn't answer the phone which is unnerving when ringing from interstate as we were. Having finally arranged for the time and date we wanted, we found the food fairly unremarkable and overpriced. Surely a hotel with the reputation of this one could do better in its restaurant. More

This is a lovely, if not rather pricey restaurant that is worth checking out if you would like to splash out a little. The food was excellent and the service prompt and very professional More

We visited Galileo in April 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Since then the change in hotel management seems to have badly bitten into the quality of the restaurant. The excellent sommelier we encountered on our previous visit has gone and not been replaced and the wine list has suffered badly as a result. Whilst prices remain high and the food... More

My wide and I spent three nights at the Observatory Hotel over the New Year period, and while we were there we had one dinner at Galileo and two lunches at The Globe Bar, which is basically the Galileo "lite". The dinner at Galileo was just perfect in every way. The ambiance that of a genteel English country manor with... More
