Service really ordinary and food competent for a cafe.
We were looking for somewhere to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. After reading local restaurant guides, we decided Scoffs was the venue. We had walked past the restaurant earlier in the day (it was a Tuesday) and read the menu. After seeing the sign inside the door saying they would re-open at 5pm, we went back to our resort before...

The service was horrible, the owner of the place was unfriendly and really didn't care about us or our service. We asked about things on the menu and he either didn't know or just wasn't bothered about trying to explain. The food is really expensive but something you just buy from coles and heat up. I was also told he...

Indoor and out door dining on what is called 'The Jetty strip' by the people in Coffs Harbour. I have always had a very good meal here. It is BYO as well as having their own wine list.
We had a meal there with a group who had been before. I found the host overly attentive - I was very uncomfortable when he started massaging my shoulders!
The food was very 60's - uninspiring to the least. The curry was the only thing my husband felt like - only appeared in starter section of menu. We requested a...

Menu was overpriced, host was cold, service was poor, meals were tasteless. Took 40 mins to bring out 2 salads, fish and chips, and calamari (which consisted of predominately chips and only 4 calamari rings).
To make matters worse as we were waiting an inordinate amount of time for our meals to turn up, I decided to look up trip...

Oysters Kilpatrick - barely warm and just a hint of worcestershire $30 for the dozen
Lobster mornay - very small. Vegetables - very ordinay... steamed carrot, broccoli and beans with boiled chat potatoes. $38 each.
Not your best effort Scoffs. Have eaten there before and wouldn't have hesitated to recommend you as a reliable restaurant for a nice meal, but...

This is a worse than ever place to have a meal. The host is cold and rude and there is no service. We waited for so long for our meal and was so unhappy with food quality. The hand liquid in the washroom was only water cheaply mixed with left over liquid.
This should be a compulsory eating place for students of Australian history. You will learn far more about Australia in the 1950s from eating here than from any textbook. The 3 veg that come as an alternative to chips with all meals are appropriately soggy but are as otherwise as fresh as when chef took them out of the packet....
