We went to Rubicon for a special dinner, based on a recommendation from a friend. Perhaps the meat dishes are good, but the vegetarian dishes were uninspiring and very expensive. The back section of the restaurant was cold and uninviting. Overall, a disappointing experience and at those prices, we won't be back.

We expected more of this place, after reading reports. Average food, average service, average (or below) decor, and above average prices. Unimpressed.

Ate here for a farewell dinner a few weeks ago. Service was very good, food was excellent. I was very happy with my meal. Just be aware it is a little pricey.

Now if only we could move Rubicon to a setting by the lake or somewhere to get a view of the lights of Canberra at night, the fine dinning experience would be complete.

The pork belly entre plate was tough and stringy, the beef main was nice but very rare instead of medium and the chocolate dessert was ok. Checking the bill showed a significant over-charge. The staff are great, its nice and quiet with candles etc. The food and winelist back up the atmosphere. A great meal, although would recommend for a romantic dinner, probably not with a young family.
