This would have to be my most favorite restaurant. The seafood is always fresh and the whole snapper is excellent. it might take a little extra time for your meal however it has Julian's home cooking touch. There is always an excellent choice of other meals if you do not like seafood. The other plus is it is BYO.

My husband loves his seafood, and on this occasion didn't want to dine in an upmarket establishment, so I chose Maestral, as it looked to be a place without pretence, but would still serve quality food. We were seated promptly & provided with menus, although it was some time before the waiter returned to take out order. After we'd given... More

After reading the reviews online and also friends recommendations we decided to visit Maestral. We ordered the seafood platter but unfortunately it was poorly presented on a flat silver plate (seafood platters should be a multi tier stacks) and the fish on it was overcooked. Crab wasn't good either. The food overall lacked any flair and there was no love... More

Similar to other reviewers we came to this restaurant on the the advice of other reviewers (especially when they are locals!!!) Only 15 minutes out of the city in Weston in a mall. We were so glad we came! Very casual feel, very prompt service and the food was great. We shared prawns in saffron sauce and prawns in blue... More

Anywhere else and we would’ve driven right past this very unassuming restaurant in an equally unassuming area. We booked this restaurant thanks to reviews here and it did not disappoint. Service was excellent and we were served fresh, well prepared and presented seafood. We shared 3 main dishes. The soft shell crab, which we chose as entree, had 2 crabs... More

We dined at Maestral as part of a large group where we sampled all their culinary offerings. From the Antipasto and seafood entrees to the meat, seafood, vegetables and salad mains, all the food was very tasty and well presented. The service was great and very efficient. This small restaurant about 20 minutes out of town is well worth the... More

Lucky Weston Creek! This restaurant offers excellent Croatian traditional & seafood delights. Don't miss this small but surprisingly wonderful restaurant tucked away in Canberra's suburbia. Having only just returned from a Croatian holiday a few months ago, trust me, this is the real deal in food from the various regions in the country. We booked in on a particularly busy... More

Maestral serves Seafood that is of a consistently excellent quality and is always beauifully prepared - the scampi are my current dave! As well as the extensive menu, They have a large seafood specials board that changes frequently and an interestibg croatian (not just seafood) section of the menu. The service is always friendly and helpful. Its byo wine. This... More

What a quaint restaurant in the suburbs. The food was superb. We had swordfish and lobster as our mains and they were the best we have tasted. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the timing of the meals was perfect. It is one of the few seafood restaurants in Canberra and we will certainly be returning.

Been to the Maestral on a number of occasions for a relaxed feed with friends. The fare is standard mediteranean grilled meat and seafood with a good sprinkling of Croatian dishes. Hearty comfort food, particularly in winter, when you can deal with the garlic-infused oil that is sprayed across the dishes. Simple but consistently good.
