What a quaint restaurant in the suburbs. The food was superb. We had swordfish and lobster as our mains and they were the best we have tasted. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the timing of the meals was perfect. It is one of the few seafood restaurants in Canberra and we will certainly be returning.

Been to the Maestral on a number of occasions for a relaxed feed with friends. The fare is standard mediteranean grilled meat and seafood with a good sprinkling of Croatian dishes. Hearty comfort food, particularly in winter, when you can deal with the garlic-infused oil that is sprayed across the dishes. Simple but consistently good.
