My rating for this restaurant is definately based on the food which was lovely. Good bistro style food and what I loved was the menu concept - most menu items are offered in both entree and main sizes which allows you to try anything you want and the choices were diverse - the chef and kitchen staff were excellent getting... I was dining alone on a work trip. A glass of water was brought promptly to the table and it was a pity to waste such an extensive wine list with some interesting looking offerings. I opted for a porter, which fitted my main course and worked well. I like to order things I would rarely have at home and... More

Fabulous food that encourages you to try things you'd ordinarily skip (...like offal) and then leave you glad you did because the flavours are just so good. Seemingly small portions for some dishes that nevertheless leave you feeling comfortably full and often unable to fit in dessert which is a problem because the desserts are a highlight. Brilliant specials changed... More

The food is very good. The seating is not overly comfortable and the restaraunt can be quite noisy. Though the food and wine list make up for it. On the expensive side but not too bad.

On a stormy summer evening our family group of 4 had a v enjoyable dinner at this Euro style bistro. My entree asparagus and dessert lemon tart were v good, but duck confit dry and a bit disappointing. Good wine list and very competent service. Quite noisy inside so wouldn't choose for a romantic dinner, but perfect for chatty casual... More

Great food, fantastic Toby's Estate Coffee, well mannered, great feel, good staff. Really enjoyable and worth the search as advised by the Australia Good Food Guide.

Don't be put off by the rustic interior of this rather small cramped restaurant as the food makes up for what the atmosphere lacks in spades. The service is just terrific with the waiters always at hand but not over-attentive. The wine list pretty good for the size of the menu which is very creative. For instance I had a... More

Puilp Kitchen is one of those Canberra restaurants that settler in the suburbs (close to the CBD in this case) but sparkle with invention. Its menu is quixotic but heavy on quality - much thought has been put into the ingredients and the cooking. Staff are knowledgable and ready to help. Book if you don't want to miss out.

My local European, bistro style restaurant has never let me or any of the friends I have invited since its opening in 2006. Christian the chef/owner is a master of the understated and exuberant cuisine. You can always find your old favourites like "varities of mushrooms & polenta" I can't get enough of and a varying blackboard based on seasonal... More

Service was friendly but they ran out of about everything: oysters, duck, lamb, fish, beer, soda water... We found a piece of plastic and onion skins in the food. The quality is ok, but unequal across the menu. It's a shame as it could be quite a nice restaurant, in a nice location.
