I have been a number of times with family & freinds & the stanDard of high quality locally sourced fresh food allways present. A freindly warm welcome. Somewhat on the expensive side however we feel worth the price you pay for a special meal! We highly recommend it.

This pub is next door to Van Hage’s Garden Centre and their little free zoo. For reasons which escape me its called Choppys Restaurant but its in the Waggon & Horses pub. We enjoyed a very good Sunday lunch for two of roast pork, served as a small joint with crackling on a carving board with a bowl of vegetables,... More

Visited here last night the garlic prawns and crab prawn starter tasted of nothing!! And neither did the rib eye steak so we had to smother in sauce, to top it all both my husband and I had jelly belly all night and this morning can only assume it was the fish, which is but worrying. We eat out every... More

Friday Lunch Club (FLC) visited Choppy's restaurant at the Waggon & Horses and as the weather was so unseasonally mild, we sat outside on the wooden terrace, which was really pleasant. The garden is pretty and there is a childrens' play area. Service started slowly (had to re-prompt after 10 mins for ordered drinks) but improved through the meal -... More

Very comprehensive menu ranging from whole lobster to a Sunday roast. Roast pork and half chicken were bought to the table on large wooden boards to carve the meat yourself - fun and allowed everyone to help themselves. I ate pan fried lemon sole with shrimp which melted in my mouth followed by the cheese slate that was big enough... More

We visited Choppy`s on Christmas Day 2011,having visited here on Christmas Day 2009 and loved everything about it. On our visit this Christmas Day we was really rushed through the meal, when we asked for a break between courses they took no notice of our request. The table behind ours also asked for a break and they were told that... More

We pass this eatery every week. It looks dowdy from the outside so have never thought of eating there. However friends booked a table for lunch so we finally got to experience it. The restaurant inside is much smarter. Generally most of the party enjoyed their food but personally my Seared Tune salad was awful. It had been overcooked and... More

I love this place, better known as Choppy's. Fish & Steak restaurant all sourced either locally or from the best sea areas. I always have the Oysters to start, not to everyones taste but i love them with their Chille Vinegar. I have never had a bad meal here. A litle pricey but the food/wine is worth it.
