Bar Dell' Orso is one of our favorite little spots in Tuscany. It is a simple and rustic, yet vibrant restaurant where locals will swing by for a delicious pasta dinner or to have a quick bite at the bar. It is a super authentic Tuscan dining experience as you'd be hard pressed to find another foreigner or an English-speaking... More

I'm generaly a fan of Tuscany and have a good knowledge of what is good & proper Italian food and what not... This place needs no further worlds to be described...this is the absolute place to stop and eat on your way to Siena from Florence. Just 300-400 meters from the Superstrada Monteriggioni exit. This small tratoria has excelent italian... More

If the roadhouses of olde still existed this would be in the category; and well regarded. Packed with people ranging from motorcyclists to mercedes tourists. Reserved a table for 14, jumped right in. All food fresh, simple good, same with wine. Super packed with people but keeping with the nice, tight, noisy atmosphere. Staff friendly, efficient. Paid ca €25 person... More

A great place to stop visiting the medieval castles north of Siena (Monteriggioni - Staggia - Colle Val D'Elsa). Is a real traditional 'osteria' with heavy wooden tables, spartan arrangement and a bit crowded but manageable. Have a great entry plate of crostini and sausages and prosciutto (ask for porchetta if available). Then follow with pici in many traditional dressings... More

This coffee bar with tables inside and outside is mostly packed for a very good reason. It has an excellent atmosphere, the coffee is not always good in Italy but here it is superb. The service is cheerful although clearly the waiters are swept off their feet. The food and tit bits as already explained elsewhere is very good. The... More

Many restaurants are closed on Monday so we went here after searching for nearby places. TA has this ranked a 4. This place was a total let down. The food was terrible and the wait staff seemed really put off.

This bar offers delicious primi and salumi. Whether it is a coffee or a quick panino or a complete lunch, it is always satisfying. The position (next to the Firenze-Siena) at the exit of Monteriggioni is perfect. They offer also precious wine by glass (Sassicaia etc). You can sit indoors or outdoors on the sunny terrace.

We first encountered this place by chance back in 2008 .. returning in 2012, we had big expectations and they were met plus more! We stopped here for lunch .. there is free parking opposite which is always a bonus. The food was tasty .. as we were eating lunch the place filled up, which is always a good sign.... More

You know about the wine, but this is the place to go if you want super Tuscan food. The appetizer platter is enough for four and features their genuine Tuscan porketta and salami with fennel. Homemade pici comes with delicious spicy sauces. The wild boar stew rivals a powerful Texas barbeque. Don't be fooled by the roadside location, plenty of... More
