The Fishy Fishy is recommended on Tripadvisor and other sites as "the place" to go in Kinsale. The food is good, not outstanding, and it tends to be very crowded and difficult to get in to. The prices seem somewhat high compared to other restaurants in the town, and its large and loud. Not the place to go for a... More

Great atmosphere, professional service and nice touches. However, after following the series on TV I would be a bit concerned about my waistline with regard to some of the ingrediants. Too much butter, cream, and lots of oil in the frying pan. Less of this, more of the grill and oven and more emphasis on the health of customers would... More

We ate at the sidewalk shop/fish market--across the street from the old blacksmith shop--three orders of fish and chips for lunch at around 8 euro each. Best fish and chips we've ever had in the UK or in Ireland. Lightly battered and not greasy-almost tempura like. Great value! Other offerings were available and everything looked good. Pretty waitress and good... More

We ate at Fishy Fishy in late May 2012 when vising Kinsale for two nights along our 8 day trip of southern ireland. We had heard that Kinsale is considered the food town of our trip and that we shouldn't miss Fishy Fishy. We loved it! I had the monkfish which was outstanding! I like to try local foods whenever... The rumors of their fish-n-chips were not rumors. They were outstanding. The best we had in Ireland. Also, great service.

fine food and great original fish dishes the fish pie is amazing and so is the hake. it is really packed every night so book or be disappointed, the portions are good and the staff lovely, nothing to fault again in ireland you have to pay top price to get great food. If in Kinsale don't miss it.

When visiting Kinsale we were looking forward to eating in Fishy Fishy, as a number of friends and family had eaten there and loved it.We got a late booking and it was great to see a full house,as this enhanced the atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service superb. There was a great selection on the menu.We both chose the hake... We ate at Fishy Fishy on the recommendation of one of the owners of Jacob's on the Mall (where we ate last night.) And what a recommendation! First we had a lovely day walking and shopping in Kinsale (about 20 miles south of Cork). Then we stopped into Fishy Fishy on a Sunday, without reservations. Luckily they weren't too busy... More

Heeding reviews on this site and elsewhere, we chose to eat at the Fishy Fishy Chippie rather than at the pricier restaurant that requries reservations. We sat at a table in a room that had on the opposite side a fish-market counter, where people came order fish to take home and cook. There was no raw fish smell. Rather, it... More

I had similar views to many of the other comments submitted earlier. We sat outside in a beautiful dining area where the sun shone. The food was very good, I had the chowder, it had a tomato base and was extremely tasty. The hake was delicious. The salmon was nice but my friend described the sauce as a little sweet.... More
