This is the best place to eat in Kinsale! The chef is a keen angler/spearfisher and knows where to source his vital ingrediants, food is true blue French. Not too rich and innundiated with sauces, the main taste is the main ingrediant.

This was the best meal we had in Ireland since moving here 1.5yrs ago. Great food and service!

We visit Max's regularly given that we live in the area. We have never had a bad experience here. The owners are French and Irish and this is evident in the attention to detail with the food .There is an early Bird, A La Carte and Specials each evening. And all are listed outside for all to see. Always a list...

Never a bad meal in 14 years! French/Irish menu is always fresh and different, seafood excellent and rack of lamb is the best in town.
We had heard all about Fishy Fishy, but Max's was an undiscovered delight that came recommended by our B&B hosts. We were so glad we stopped to eat here -- the food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was very welcoming.
This came highly revommended and was disappointed by both service and food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is non exssistent, staff are haphazard and forgettfull. Not a pleasant dining experience and we were really looking forward to it considering the recommendation we got

The fish was fantastic and mt daughter ate most of a huge dish of belly pork. The waitress asked if she wanted the rest wrapping up to take home for...
