A group of 10-15 of us stayed in Alcester for a long weekend just across from this wonderful pub. We were made to feel very welcome by staff and locals alike and whilst we didn't eat here, it is the perfect retreat for those seeking a few lost hours with old friends!

This is my local and for many years has won the Best Pub Award for Camra in this area.It is well known in the town for its well kept Beer and the large selection it has on offer. The food is as good if not a better reason to visit and if timed right, on a Sunday after the main... More

We looked around the town and found this the only menu which offered a good fish and vegetarian option within a small but varied and distinctive list. Prices were very reasonable an the setting small but nicely atmospheric. The food was well cooked and well presented and a request for clarification of ingredients taken seriously. Both mains and desserts were... More

The Hollybush is always one of the most popular pubs in Alcester. It is made up of small rooms and usually has the fires lit in winter. The real ales are excellent and change regularly. The beer garden is very pleasant in summer. Local groups meet there such as Morris dancers and musicians. Our 5 year old daughter is always... More

A while back I did a slightly less than first class review for one of my favourite restaurants. What I had not realised was that at the time of this visit our lovely land-lady of 12 years standing had been not too well and passed over her kitchento a rather less acomplished lady cook. I am delighted to say she... More

We have dined here on 3 different visits with varying standards in both food and service. The Sunday lunch is nice but not outstanding. There always seems to be a bit of confusion between the bar staff and the kitchen about service...are they serving food or not ??? service levels vary greatly between excellent and rather poor so it is... The differences between lunch and evenings are quite large. Week-day lunchtime set menus, whilst relatively inexpensive, are in general more "pub grub" although other dishes are generally available. Evenings and weekends are quite expensive and the quality can be quite variable as can the amounts on the plate. Most of the waitresses are delightful. The bars serve excellent real ales... More

Probably one of the very best Sunday lunches I have ever had. The food was superb, atmosphere great and the waitresses were very nice / friendly / on the ball. Medium rare roast beef!

The Holly Bush is a great medieval building built on a narrow plot that extends way back from the road. Go in the main door and you find a corridor disappearing into the distance with rooms off to either side and a garden at the far end. On the left hand side the pub is lively and it's difficult to... Love the pub, love the people, the food only o.k., but a very pleasant garden to sit outside enjoying a drink in the fine weather, and will always go there when in Alcester.
