This restaurant was recommended by the owner of the apartment we rented. It was an excellent choice. Don't know why we hadn't visited this establishment on past visits. Food was excellent, service was professional and helpful. Good price for the quality of food & service. Surprised by the size of the portions. Had a great Bandol Rose.
La Vieille Auberge is just what we hoped to find: a slightly old-fashioned, stylish but friendly restaurant: white linen tablecloths and napkins, a decent choice on the menu. It has a lovely location: to get the best view in town, east towards the tallest cliffs in France, you need to walk around the little harbour avoiding the tightly packed restaurants...

My wife and I decided to stay in Cassis instead of Marseille before our morning flight out of Europe. We chanced upon this marvelous restaurant while strolling around the port on the evening of October 11, 2012. We spied the menu posted outside of the restaurant, and decided to dine there because the prices were very, very reasonable. We did...

We ate at La Vieille Auberge because it was one of the few places with lamb as a choice on the menu de jour. Everything was great!! The soup de poisson, the lamb, the sorbet and the creme caramel. I would highly recommend this restaurant, the service and servers were great and so was the food - worth every penny.
Everything in Cassis is a little expensive (no competition), but this place was worth it. The food going out to other tables looked so good I wish we had more time to try more dishes. The location right on the quay is fantastic.
We ate here at the recommendation of our wine tour operator. She said it was just far enough from the center of Cassis harbor to be more frequented by locals than tourists. The restaurant is still right on the harbor and has splendid views from the outdoor tables or window seats inside. We chose to order from the 24euro three...

Like many visitors to Cassis, my wife and I were day-trippers. We had come to see the town and take the boat ride to the Calanques. After the boat ride, we were ready for lunch and walked past numerous restaurants looking at their menus, how busy they were, and whether French speakers were eating there. Based on that scientific method...

This is a great restaurant located towards the end of the port promenade, we had a great bouillabaisse, which is a very very special feast, made with 5 expensive fishes. The bill was 40€ per head, but this is by far the most expensive item on the menu. You will not be able to eat everything although its great! The...

There are so many restaurants on the harbor, than to choose one is a very difficult exercise. We were advised (by a local) to have diner at "La vielle auberge".
we first had a look (and to book table outside) and the appearance seemed too old and "traditional" but we wanted to be sure to have dinner after a long...
