We were also sent by our hotel, Il Riccio. The food was one of the best meals since arriving in Italy a week ago. Every dish excellent. Good value too.

We ate here. We put up with the surly service of the English speaking waitress. Food was below average. Service was truly unpleasant. There are plenty of nicer friendlier places with good food in Montepulciano.

Recommended by many - and for good reason. This was some really good food. The service was fine, a few bobbles, but the overall experience was really good and food shines through.
We had melted peccorino cheese with proscuitto, pasta with red boar sauce, lamb, whole fish, foccia, grilled veggies, local wine, beans, choc cake
And they have very good...

This place was recommended by our hotel , Il Riccio, and proved to be so good that we went back a second time for more. The young girl, her Dad and Nonna made for 2 pleasant evenings. I can not go without mentioning our wonderful Irish waitress...loved you all
Our hotel recommended this family owned restaurant, and we are glad we listened! The staff is very friendly, and the food is awesome. Everything is homemade and delicious. If you are in Montepulciano, make sure you eat here. You will not be disappointed.
Booked the restaurant at lunchtime when walking around Montepulciano as we had seen the good reviews. When booking the waitress recognised our accents (Irish) like her self. I think that explains some other reviews refering to her speaking good English. They have two sittings 7.30 and 9.30. We picked 7.30. Lucky we booked beacuse by 8.00, they were turning people...

The food and the service was excellent, when I complemented the waitress on her English, she said she was Irish !! Really a great place.
I went there with my boyfriend as suggested by the hotel in which we were staying.
Our menu included: homemade "pici all'anatra" (long Tuscan pasta with duck sauce), and grilled lamb, 3/4 litre of wine, a side dish, a dessert and a coffee; coperto for 2 (which includes bread and table service) and we paid €35 in total. The portions...

I rarely repeat on a restaurant when there are as many to choose from as in Montepulciano. But Osteria del Conte was worth the second (maybe even a third?) visit. The food is phenomenal - the grilled pecorino w/ham appetizer is marvelous, the lamb chops too good to pass up. We have had two of the ravioli options, the tagliatelle...

This restaurant was a wonderful surprise for us as we knew nothing about it, but it was one of several recommended by our hotel.
It has a real comfortable atmosphere and our waitress was excellent (and spoke perfect English). The food and wine were very good, not five star gourmet, but excellent for local fare and reasonably priced. I would...
