Our walking group booked in to this 'olde England' pub for lunch (including dogs, which are welcomed). They provide a relatively short menu for lunch (which is good) and everyone in the group was impressed by the quality and value of the food (including what we all thought were twice-cooked chips). None of us had a starter or a pudding,... More

It is well over a year since my last visit and it was with some trepidation that I booked again because as the Buddha said ' All component things in the world are changeable'. Happily, the BA posse still manage to pull it out of the bag with a menu offering that is diverse and enterprising. There are few constants... More

We visited for my daughter's 18th birthday lunch on the back of the GFG recommendation and weren't disappointed. The guy running front of house and pretty much everything in the house was pleasant, able to explain everything on the menu and also the beers of which there was a good selection. I tried the haggis starter with beetroot chutney which... More

It is hard to give a rating for the Butcher's Arms, because, quite simply, the food is its weakest point. It seems to be a bit churlish but I must rate on food since it is...errr...a place where you eat! The fact is we have eaten here 4 or 5 times over the past year because it is so convenient,... More

Sunday lunch for five - but a decent menu. Traditional roasts beautifully done but a range of tasty alternatives as well. well presented with good quick service with a smile. Wonderful atmosphere and situated in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside. We'll be back. Note: if you're over 5'6", watch your head on the beams as you go in.....

This is the kind of pub we need more of in the UK. No garlic mushrooms or faux Mediterranean 'sun blushed tomatoes in everything'. Just a short, focused menu of sound cooking based on wonderful local ingredients. We came here for lunch on a Saturday and gorged ourselves on black pudding sausage rolls, Hereford beef sandwiches, beef and chorizo meatballs... More

Twelve of us dined on St Patrick's Day, having enjoyed a lovely limestone walk to and from the spacious pub car park. Deer featured on Harris's Hill overlooking the old hostelry - and dear was the order of the day when we repaired for Sunday Lunch. Seated in one of the cosy rooms where even the vertically-challenged have to lower... More

We booked in a party of 12 for a family get-together on a Saturday lunchtime (youngest 8, oldest 85), and we were really impressed with the menu range, the welcome and friendliness of the staff, the relaxed atmosphere and the open fire :-). Parking is easy. The food and beer were brilliant and great value for money. The whole day... More

Myself and my partner had the pleasure of eating here last Friday after being recommended by our B&B owners. After negotiating the country lanes in the dark we found the pub and entered the bar area to locals and a roaring fire. The barman (Andy) was partial to the homemade marmalade from the lady at our B&B so we created... More

we visited last week on a tuesday and were not in anyway disappointed. the menu covered all bases and i was asked when i booked if i required any special dietary requirements, a service so often overlooked or missed out completely today. whilst there was only 1 vegetarian option it was well thought out and my cornish dory was cooked...
