My family and I have eaten at the ship on numerous occasions; the staff have always appeared courteous and the food is excellent especially the desserts. The ship offers a cosy and relaxing ambience suitable for all parties.

One or two are saying it is not the ship inn at roose that people are reviewing. I want to categorically point out that it is definitively the ship inn, Yarlside road, barrow in furness, Cumbria, LA130EX that I reviewed once before. I have never been so disgusted With the service in this place. Downright rude and downright shocking. I... More

We were seated in the middle of the floor at a table which stood out like a sore thumb - if i ever visit the Ship again i would not accept being seated at this table. The food was lovely, just far too much of it and i always dread the waste when i go to this reastaurant.

A regular of ours, you will have to book for Sun lunch or a busy evening, children aren't made very welcome and service is moderate. Good range of food but large portions and a lot of waste.

Party of 6 arrived containing a 4 week old baby turned up on foot for a meal, upon entering the premises we were presented by a sign informing us that prams/pushchairs were not allowed in the pub. In this day and age in the current economic climate you would think restaurants would encourage families. This was not the case of... More

On the plus side the food was fresh and home cooked and the portions were more than ample. All 5 of us dining (including a 4 year old) enjoyed our meals and the general atmosphere in the pub. The downsides were the 'service' - a number of the waitresses were sullen to the point of being rude and the wait... More

Called at the Ship Inn Yarlside for a meal but was too early to eat in the restaurant, however they were serving bar meals so we decided to have that. Excellent choice on the bar meal menu and we all had something different. Every meal was well cooked and very large portions giving excellent value for money. We ordered tea/coffee... More

have been told by people at work and friends that food is nice but the rudeness and unfriendliness of the staff is not worth it, we went with friends and couldnt get over how miserable the staff were especially the older waitress, people on a table near us said they wont be coming back because of the service, i can... The ship inn is a lovely little pub and the food is delicious, but the staff always seem very rude & abrupt!
