We popped in here for dinner on a whim as undecided where to eat & we were glad we did; lovely food, nice service & reasonable price! I had the Cajun swordfish which was really nicely cooked & presented, and my partner had the scampi & chips; both had cheesecake to follow and with a drink each it was under... More

Had looked at several nearby restaurants in trip advisor and were actually sat in "postillion" in the "hallway entrance" nearby. Left quickly and wandered hungry a few steps on. Hyltons was lovely. Immediately we felt welcome and it was cosy. The staff were attentive and helpful. It was my husbands 50th birthday and we had a lovely meal and bottle... More

Food and service is absolutely wonderful. Good choice of starters, mains and desserts on the menu. We have visited this restaurant each time we have stayed in Bowness (about 6 or 7) and it never disappoints. We will be going again on the next visit.

We had dinner here on our first evening in the Lake District. My eye was drawn to the Lancashire hotpot on the menu outside, which I fancied as I wanted something (fairly) local! And it didn't disappoint. It was served with delicious local bread. Mum had the roast beef and liked it. Food is very nicely presented, prices are comparable... More

We dropped in for lunch. I had a goats cheese starter followed by a 'duo burger' (one small pork & apple and one lamb and mint burger) with chips and salad. My daughter opted for nachos and a jacket potato. The menu choice was varied and the prices were very reasonable. I saw a few of the meals come out... More

We were impressed by the portion sizes here, we actually had leftover food and would have preferred to have less food at a lower cost. The food itself was delicious, hubby had fish & chips which was a bit pricey for a lunch, but the quality was good. I opted for the baked potato as I'm gluten free & it... More

Just returned from a fabulous meal. Had booked a table the night before and our table was ready when we arrived a little early. Good selection of delicious food which enabled the four of us to eat very different meals due to the wide choice. Excellent value for a starter, mains and drinks at £55. Much better quality and value... More

We chose the fish and chip meal which was beautiful. The only thing which could have spoiled the visit was the intrusive Radio 1 programme as background. This was politely dealt with when we asked for the volume to be reduced.
