On Saturday we had lovely morning coffees in the The Buttery, Lymington and thought we'd pop into the Brockenhurst branch for afternoon tea. As we were on a 'day out' we thought we'd treat ourselves to the cream tea. Sadly, the scones were hard and doughy and the clotted cream & jam portions seemed a bit on the small side.... More

We have been going down to the New Forest every year for many years now and we usually make a habit of visiting The Buttery for lunch or a cream tea. The ambience is nice, it feels very quaint and the cream teas are good, the shortbread teddy's are particularly tasty and I make a habit of buying one every... More

We recently went to the new forest for our first family holiday with our 15 week old daughter. We did visit The Buttery on a visit a few years ago and remembered that they did very nice hot chocolates and Milkshakes so we thought we would pop in again when we were passing through. The Buttery is a nice place... More

Best choice of cakes in Brockenhurst on the day we visited (we checked them all). Our cake choices were excellent. Good coffee (and Bev says I'm a coffee snob). Waiter Jong was cheery and attentive. His unbadged colleague (I'm guessing the manager) was a tad dour. He was using the customer service 'script' but lacking in enthusiasm. For instance: thanking... More

We've eaten at The Buttery quite a few times and are always very satisfied with the food, drink and service. This weekend we shared a sizeable cheese and (delicious) ham salad, then tucked into a fruit pie - apple and apricot - with ice cream. Polite and efficient service; plus a good selection of cakes that we just couldn't manage... More

Local New Forrest ice cream went down a treat on part way round our cycle ride. Staff were friendly and helpful although the extractor fan unit by the outdoor seating was a loud and unwelcome addition for us in the sun but no doubt foing wonders for the people inside!

Lovely food cakes and service. Waiter was really kind to an infirm elderley customer helping her out to her friends car.

We stopped here for a quick bite before going to Carey's Manor Spa. We had toasted sandwiches and lattes and despite the fact that the cafe was very busy we were served very quickly. The toasted sandwiches were one of the nicest i've ever had. They also had a large selection of cakes that looked very tempting. I wouldn't hesitate... More

The décor and ambience is not as cosy as its name suggests. It may be great for afternoon tea but we were not over the moon about our cooked breakfast.

Popped in for a sandwich and a drink on a bank holiday lunchtime. Food was all good and the smoothies we ordered were just what we needed on a hot day. Cakes all looked good too. Nice system for ensuring that the waiting staff know you require service! Would be happy to come again
