The family had Sunday lunch (carvery) recently, the staff were very pleasant and friendly and the food was cooked to perfection with plenty of choice. The manor house in in a lovely setting and we would recommend that people try Pengethley Manor

We visited again recently for Sunday Lunch. We have always enjoyed the food here, although in the past there have been one or two 'not so good' points with regard to service, etc. However, there has been a change of staff and the waitresses who attended to us were very friendly, polite and efficient. The carvery serves a choice of...

Stayed one night. Excellent Georgian building with Jacobean (1930's?) features, on eminence with magnificent views and fine walks. ( Hentland church is an 1850's time capsule). Utterly charming. Drinks served in comfortable bar or delightful garden. Bay windowed dining room overlooks distant country side. Food freshly cooked and served by attentive, responsive and well trained young staff. Wine list adequate...

Four of us dined at this hotel's restaurant. Meal and views superb. Staff very nice and friendly. 2 Courses £20, 3 courses £25. For the presentation, quality, freshness and well cooked a very reasonable price.
The 3 star was given because the food isn't bad. The Pengethley experience starts and ends sitting in the bar area with radio Wyvern blaring in the background complete with adverts for the local Morrisons. l mean this is a beautiful georgian manor house with zilch ambience and l would not normally comment on staff unless they were truly bad...

Went to Penthley Manor for the first time for Sunday lunch. It's a fine looking house in a pretty setting and with an interesting history so, as we approached up the private drive, I had high hopes. Then I spotted the vertical blinds obscuring some of the maginificent Georgian windows near the entrance and I started to have sinking feelings....

I recently had lunch with my Yoga class in the restaurant and it was a wonderful experience. The service was great and the food delicious. The setting of the dining room offers spectacular views and the atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely go again !
We called in for lunch. Very warmly welcomed into the Bar, where they happily made us the most enjoyable lunch from various elements on the menu. Staff polite with cando attitude. The inside was being repainted, and they have obviously have and are spending a fortune on renovations. Idea for a conference or wedding
We went with a group of friends for dinner one evening and arrive at what looks like a nice place from the outside. You enter, and the bar / lounge is nice enough, traditional and cute, and then are escorted into the dining room which is just awful- really. Hubby and I couldn't believe how such a gorgeous house with...

Visited for one Saturday night, having an evening meal and room and breakfast. Firstly the room was warm, clean and comfortable. Evening meal was very good indeed. I had lamb as a main course and my partner had duck. Lovely vegatables to accompany it. A limited choice of puddings, but the meal was reasonaly priced. Had a nice bottle of...
