We took visiting relatives there because they had a young child, on a scale of 10 play area for the kids 10, food 2, staff 5, decor 5, price 3. Wouldn't dream of going without children.
Visiting the area with two children age 3 and 7 and popped into this pub for lunch. The food was Very good, large portions and fast service. process range from £7 pub classics to about £14 with some specials available. There is a very large enclosed play area outside which the kids loved although my 3 year old was a... More
We visited this venue with our grandchildren looking for a nice place where we could get a good pub lunch. We got served straight away and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We didn't have to wait long for our food and it was well presented and good sized portions. There is also a nice childrens play area outside.... More
The Hairy Dog at Minehead is a large popular pub. It has a good varied menu, the service and food are very good. We ate here one lunchtime and we ordered a sandwich as we didn't want a full meal. Beware! a sandwich comes with chips and salad, and is not a small meal. There are several rooms with various... More
We visited the hairy dog because of it's convenience following a butlins trip. A children's play area a noted potential distraction provided just that. It is substantial enough that we lost two children in it twice. The weather was fair on our visit so with the pl ay area being outside entirely I imagine a rainy day would be problematic... More
After being recommended to us, we visited the hairy dog in may 2013 and were so impressed, we went back twice during our long weekend break in october. Lovely food and good service but slightly in the more expensive side at £9 for a lasagne with no chips. However, the kids love it there and we will definately be back... More
went because a relative needed a sit down and our kids were begging to go have a play. we didn't eat buy plenty of others were. someone say behind us had a jacket potato, I can't comment on taste but it was huge and looked very tempting!
Went for dinner and few drinks on a Saturday in Sept. We arrived early knowing it would be busy later but what a mistake. We got a table easily as not very busy at that time but the food was just warm when it arrived. Both of us had ordered onion rings but two rings does not equal a portion... More
Been here for the third time running in as many years. The fish and chips are just delicious. Really fresh and tasty. The pub it's self could do with a little updating but it's the fish and chips that's a must. Good value too and a nice pint of cider!!
Stopped off on the way home from a weekend at Butlins, which the kids love. We sat outside so the kids could play in the adventure playground, which was as good as any I have seen anywhere. Food was typical pub grub, nothing special but tasty enough and quite filling. Price wise, I'm not sure where the reviewers who feel... More
