Ranked #6 of 55 restaurants in Tromso
Price range: 19 AUD - 56 AUD
Cuisines: European
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Dinner, Reservations, After-hours
Description: Just like its more mature Harstad sibling (1996), this Tromsø-restaurant celebrates the French and Italian love of food, but gives it a North Norwegian character. The obvious focus for De 4 Roser is, of course, on the combination of food, wine and service. Local suppliers and local produce is an important factor in the menu. De 4 Roser can seat 60 and features a contemporary kitchen and an interior that is both simple and austere. This is an excellent venue for both small and large occasions. The first floor café is designed in a European style and the coffee and lunch menus are just as good as in Harstad. A dinner and large drinks menu is also available. Food is served daily from 10 am.

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by Emma's, another well known restaurant in Tromso. We had no idea what to expect. When we sat down, we were asked if we would like a glass of champagne, which we declined, but did opt for a glass of wine with our meal, which was French and quaffable. I had two... More

The prices were reasonable for Norway. The food was delicious. However, you order at the front and tell them where you're sitting. Needless to say, my drink and my soup were lost or forgotten for about 45min after my friend received his food/drink. After much prompting, we finally received the items

Being a single lady I am always a bit aprehensive entering bars and restaurants on my own, especially in a foreign country, hiowever the staff here were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful, going through the menu with me as I don't speak or read Norwegian. I ate downstairs and after opting for the steak sat down with... More

I went here with ten collegues and we got a nice room to ourself. Love the very tasty food which was accopanied by great wines! A four couse dinner had been pre orderd but I think it really was 11 dishes including lots of litte suprises from beginning to start! Goat chees in beet-root gelly, Madelins with Choritzo, Champagne chiffon,... More

A great low key place with a great vibe. We had an assortment of salads, burgers and sandwiches which were all fabulous. The BLT was superb, there was half a pig in there!! They only lost a star because of the length of time they took to bring out the food.

Recently ate in the upstairs restaurant (not the pub) and was somewhat disappointed after some exceptionally great meals in Oslo and Trondheim. The decor was a bit dated (very 80's-90's with dusty light fixtures) and the food did not live up to expectations. Service was friendly but was let down by the food. No memorable dishes in the entire tasting... More

Excellent food and ambiance. The tapas is well worth a try. But, the wine is expensive and served in a thimble, so be prepared to spend a lot of money on wine. Great service and friendly staff.

Very nice restaurant. The food was well presented and there were many top-class culinary twists to what seemed to be mostly locally themed dishes. Excellent wine list. The food was good yet seemed to run on the somewhat bland side of the taste spectrum, i suspect in accordance with norwegian tastes. The menu itself was very appealing and I am... More

This charming cafe serves a delicious omelet (house special) until 3 pm. It was perfect for those who get up late (after chasing the Northern Lights :) ) or just arriving into town and want something close to home cooking but not too fancy.

Out for a late lunch or an early dinner, try De 4 Roser in Tromso. Just have a talk with the chef and they even prepare a outside the menue meal for you. Reasonable prices and good atmosphere. Have to be tried.
