Be warned, they don't have any vegetarian dishes! Also no fish, so your only option for pork is chicken. That said, the pork is yummee! Huge portions, none of us were able to finish their dish. I totally recommend the ribs! Couldn't find any baby seat, so we just brought the stroller inside. The decor was fun, and the restaurant... More

We visited Purstner on our first night in Vienna. Is it touristy? Yes. Are they playing the atmosphere up a little to attract people who read reviews on Tripadvisor? Yes. All that said, the atmosphere is fun. The waiters dressed in traditional garb was interesting. And, it sincerely felt like you were dining outside of the norm and in a... More

We selected this restaurant for our first evening meal in Vienna, a city we'd not previously visited. The decor has character, the staff attentive and friendly, and the food and beer to be commended.

I like a place where you know the locals eat as well as the tourists. The food is generally good as are the prices. And when you travel you want to immerse yourself with locals, else you may as well stay at home. Great Austrian cuisine. My schnitzel was huge and delicious and my wife's boiled beef was also a... Great food , many different dishes to choose from and all of them good. With some friends we had a very good soup with thin sliced pancakes inside, some excellent medaillons of pork with blue cheese, a very good filet with garlic butter and green beans with bacon and some great pork ribs. the service was fast, , the waiter... Meal was really good, schnitzel was excellent and pretty big, service was quick and attentive. Very nice place to eat. Authenticly designed indoors (way too much to my taste) but has an outdoor option as well - street isn't crowdy so it'll be a pretty comfortoble. Recommend.

Restaurant Purstner was recommended by our hotel for good Austrian food and atmosphere. Waiters in lederhosen and decor in old wood and animal heads. The staff was very friendly. We made a reservation in the afternoon and were welcomed as regular customers in the evening. Customers were a mix of Austrian/German and Americans. We both ordered Wiener schnitzel which was... Second best restaurant I've seen so far in Vienna - that would be the best description of this place. Once inside I've been welcomed by a waiter thematically dressed to blend into the interior of the restaurant, which was decorared as a hunter hut somewhere deep in the woods. Animal heads, birds and a lot of other hunting theme related... More
