Description: The new restaurant Le Loft in Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom (Cathedral) has given Vienna a new hot spot which would not be out of place in London, Paris or even New York. With the first step into the lobby you will be struck by the 2000 square metre illuminated ceiling of the Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist. The walls of Top Floor, also on the 18th floor of the renowned French architect Jean Nouvel's sculptured building, are all made of glass. Diners are treated to a breathtaking view over the whole city. Star chef, Antoine Westermann, who has been awarded 3 Michelin stars, has created a menu with French specialities using the best ingredients Austria has to offer. Raphael Dworak, head chef at Le Loft is in charge of the interpretation and implementation. The focal point of the restaurant is Le Loft's Bar & Lounge, which offers a panoramic view from Kahlenberg right the way across to the southern outskirts of Vienna. And not forgetting Austrian wine lovers, in the restaurant itself is a 4-metre high wine cabinet, which stocks around 800 bottles.

Honestly, I could not afford eating there, but if you want to impress your date, take her or him to the 18th floor of this 5 star hotel for a drink. Had an excellent meal at Le Loft at the Sofitel. Enjoyed the 6 course dinner with wine pairings. Service was attentive and not overbearing. The view of Vienna from the wrap around windows is incredible. The food is amazing. The wine pairing was perfect. The interior at sunset was quite impressive.

A bit disappointing as the view was excellent, but the place itself has no atmosphere. The drinks were okay. Waiting staff was good but I would not rush back... maybe it is better during the night, but a bar can't just expect great reviews because of its view.

I was there for a cocktail with a couple of friends and I remained astonished from the incredible view! Nothing better in Vienna. It worths a visit...just remember to call at least a week before!

This bar & restaurant on top of the Sofitel Hotel has an incredible view. Our friends from Vienna surprised us when they brought us there and had booked a bar table overlooking the city. worth a visit, i would say, for the really great view and nice atmosphere. food is excellent of course, but overall just a bit too stiff and formal for me....

For the atmosphere and the view LeLoft is about the best in Vienna. Book early for the window view. Its not worth it without a window table. Food is just okay. The recommended wines for the course meal were better than I expected and well chosen
