Staff in this restaurant are very friendly and professional. The weiner schnitzel was good. Quite large, it almost fell off the plate. Order this dish if you are very hungry. A couple next to us had a beef dish that looked delicious. This restaurant is down a very quiet side street right off Stephansdom. This is the oldest tavern in... More

Small, intimate, moderate prices, and very good service. They have authentic Austrian food and beer. The weinerschnitzel portions are huge and the best we've had. Super local beer selection. Frequented by locals. We were the only English speakers. A great recommendation by our concierge. Close inside the "ring".

This old, established retsaurant is far enough off the tourist track to be a hidden gem. The day we visited for lunch we looked to be the only non-locals. The room is a bit dark but tranquil and civilized. The food is exceptional and the service is friendly and efficient in an old world way. While the wine list is... More

We remember our meal here as our most authentic traditional food and service experience in Vienna. The food was tasty and plentiful and the service was friendly and accommodating. Someone with more time and knowledge to explore the wine list would probably find it delightful! Food and drink for two was 45 Euros.

I found this little gem by way of Rick Stevens' book. It's close to St. Steven's, but away from the hustle and bustle. It's a smaller restaurant that's very efficient. Food is delicious and served hot out of the oven. For dessert, get the apple strudel, delicious!

Having been so disappointed at the Weissen Raufangskerer, which had been my favourite restaurant in Vienna, I had a to find a new favourite. Zu den drei Hacken may be the one! A lovely atmosphere with outside seating, very romantic, a good choice of wines and a menu that was just to my taste - and my wife's. I had... More

My mother and I dined here on our last night in Vienna and it was wonderful! It's a lovely, small, well-lit restaurant complete with flowers and candles on the table. The food was very good, excellent goulash.

for the last 20 years I visit Vienna in March for ECR. I found the place near the Marriott and I love it. Mostly I see locals there. Young couples, old couples, serious business people and families but they all seem to be locals. The food is traditional but not for tourists. There are several intimate rooms one with a... More

Great spot not far from St. Stephen's. Cozy, small-scale, and charming, An old-fashioned menu with tafelspitz, beef goulash, chops and sausages. I had the most delicious roast pork and sauerkraut ever. The wine list is amazing.
