Calling this a "bar" is a misnomer. it's actually a bar on the first floor and a fabulous restaurant on the second. Our server, Sonya, was wonderful. As an appetizer, try the trio of Icelandic foods. But the menu is fascinating and everything we had (we went twice) was very good. Try the Reyka vodka; it's "home made."

After walking past it a few times, we finally found this place. The name had been taken down and will presumably be changing. We stopped in and they confirmed that the restaurant/bar was under new ownership and they were in the middle of making changes. The selection of beer was very limited and the menu had changed so we just... More

The beer is good. The food...not so much, it reminds more of the typical fast food restaurant (burger&fries). The atmosphere is not very nice, we were seted next to the bathroom. I would definetely avoid this restaurant and go to Fishmarket or Seafood grill, which are one million times better..

Disappointed to go to this bar expecting to order their 3 course traditional Icelandic meal that I had a year ago (and on previous earlier visits to Iceland). Was given a completely different menu. i was told they were no longer the Icelandic Bar and didn't do that menu any more. As the place is still called the Icelandic Bar... More

Had lunch here only because I had read that this place had an amazing selection in beers, but the selection was in my opinion just OK. I was impressed that they only have Icelandic beers on tap, but 4 of 5 was Viking in different variations and I'd wish they had Egils, Skjálfti and some others as well. If you're... More

This place was recommended to me by my hotel as serving good traditional Icelandic fayre - having read the other reviews i am a little confused! I went there tonight (26th Jan) but the only menu on offer was a small bar snack type tasting menu promoting a new hotel due to open in Feb... Nothing wrong at all with... More

This is the restaurant strongly recommended by my friends for their traditional Icelandic food. I found the bar have a very good atmosphere and many local Icelandic hang over there. I had the reindeer burger and its fairly good. The shellfish soap taste a little sweet and only have one piece of prawn and scallop. My friend tried the something... More

This place was a great little find! As a vegetarian I was not hopeful that an Icelandic restaurant would be able to cater to my needs. However I had one of the best vegetarian meals I have had in ages. The prices were really reasonable and the location was good. It also serves food till late. However, I was really... More

This place is open to late at night and offer some great icelandic meals with a retro twist to them. They are extremely affordable and the meal serving are of a good size. Was quite impressed with this place as we walked in and got great meals and service at 10:30 at night
