Ate here when looking for a good steak, the restaurant was nice but unfortunately the steak was a bit grisly and did not live up to expectations. Nice settings, but I am sure you can find better.

Maybe a little expensive but for a top notch three course meal, I definitely rate this place. I paid 5000 ISK for the three courses and a little extra for the glass of wine.
Easily missed right on the high street, this steakhouse is a hidden gem.
Dining room is large set around a feature grilling station where you can see the chef cooking each steak to order, amazing to see how quickly 1 man can knock out orders one after the other each cooked to perfection, hats off to the guy!!

went to the Hereford to sample the Puffin and Whale menus. Nice atmosphere, nice service, nice food. As with everywhere else in Iceland pretty pricey.
I'm still not sure I like the idea of eating puffins but if you are up for trying local delicacies, you won't be too disappointed. This is a grill house so the usuals (beef etc) are all on the menu. Good food (not amazing), wine and not bad value for money. Easy to miss:on the main street, above a shop.
Probably the best lobster tails I have ever eaten, delicious. The restaurant suffers a bit from barbecue type fumes as the steaks are cooked, but this is only a very miniscule grumble. We all enjoyed our food (there were five of us) and service was fine. Would be happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a good choice of...

4 of us ate here on our final evening in Reyjkjavic and whilst the food was of good quality and well prepared and presented, nothing could prepare us for the service.
From the moment we walked in, we were treated with an almost palpable sense of resentment and surly indifference. Our coats were wordlessly taken from us and we ushered...

Iceland is not cheap but the restaurant was better priced than most in the downtown area and the steak was great, full of locals and not tourists which is always a good sign, and the house wine was better than most of the other restaurants, recommended
You could be forgiven for not noticing this restaurant on Laugarvegur (Reykjavik's main commercial street) as it is above a parade of shops, with the entrance to the side. The only way you'd know it is here are by these humble reviews, or the large sign on the street promoting the whale or puffin set menus enticing the hungry and...

We tried the set menus, 3 courses; lobster soup, steak and chocolate (gooey) pud and my other hald had the puffin 3 course; smoked puffin, puffin breast and skyr (yogurt type pudding). Apertif of garlic rubbed bread and olive paste was complimentary. It was lovely, service was quick.
Restaurant was really nice, although since we were in a rush, i...
