Very quiet the night's we went in and just had one drink. They have Guiness and an Irish draft beer as well as the local lager but for over a week ran out. Service not great some nights and it very much depended on who was behind the bar. The food was basic but plentiful and of a good standard.

We were attracted to the Prince Albert by the offer of traditional `fish and chips`. We were warmly welcomed, but then things went downhill. We ordered our fish and chips and they arrived quite promptly, but sad to say whilst the batter looked and tasted fine, the fish was only just warm, and barely cooked. In fairness, the chef came... We needed to watch two football matches at the same time, one on Sky Sports 1 and the other on Directo TV2. It really is difficult to find a pub that shows both. This did and it was perfect. So if you are looking for a place to watch football, or other sports, then go here. Food was reasonably good... More

Good basic pub in minor road that does meals as well as the usual drinks, and has three different TVs for sports.

Food is very nice and competitively priced and the service is very fast and friendly. Not noisy like Moynihan's, when your meal is spoilt with rowdy/noisy onlookers, staring at the tv screen, with a glass of alochol in their hands when there is a sporting event showing on the big screen, i.e. darts, football, rugby etc.

We actually didn't rate the food especially in Madeira Most restaurants seemed to have the same menu really and it was pretty expensive. Beef Stroganoff for example wasn't - it was just fried beef with mushrooms and onions and not actually the nice casserole stroganoff with paprika flavouring. We ate in a different place every night and sometimes for lunch... More

Just returned from Maderia. Had lunch at the Prince Albert on Sunday before we went home. my wife wanted a jacket potatoe, told no potatoes as all had been prepared for sunday lunch, so we both had beefburgers, never tasted such awful beefburgers, even quorn ones which taste like cardboard are better than these. bread rolls must have been a... A slice of Brit Pub. Great atmosphere, watched the England v San Remo game and enjoyed a steak pie with beans and chips, bottle of wine, several other drinks and left very happy indeed. Good food, good prices and footie on tv. Thanks to Paul (I met him on the golf course) and his staff, who were fautless.
