We had a very late lunch here and were just wow'd by our server! He was extremely knowledgeable and very accomodating! Opened 4 bottles of wine for us to just try before even deciding on what we wanted to drink. One was even an '87 and not many still left! We had such a great time we skipped dinner that... More

This place is fantastic. More than just a drink, its like a mini wine/port tasting experience. I would recommend a glass of the 20 year old Khrone Tawny port. The bar food is also delicious. The owners are so friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome, we visited on my mums birthday and she said it... More

We where recommended to this fabulous bar by friends and they where right it is an absolute find! We had visited the Castle and stopped in afterwards. What a great way to spend the afternoon! They even included our 13 year old daughter by giving her a wine glass for her water. The antipasto platters where out of this world.... More

This place is fantastic! The selection of wines by the glass is vast. There are lots of aged wines available to taste should you so desire. That's rare anywhere but Bern's in Tampa. Easily better than the wine bar in Barrio Alto. Don't miss this place!!!

Interesting and broad selection of regional wines and cheeses served in cozy, rustic atmosphere. The highly knowledgeable staff guided us through a selection of old and relatively new vintages, contrasting the various grapes, regional styles and age of the wines. Absolutely worth a special trip back to the Castle to experience Wine Bar do Castelo.

I love to eat, I love to drink, and I love learning about wine. If you like any or all of these things, this place is a "must" for you. Three of us stayed with Nuno(one of the owners) for (no lie) 5 hours on a Sunday evening and tasted ~12 different wines and ports and left walking a bit... More

For someone who lives on the outskirts of Lisboa and works in a completely different area of the city, coming to Castelo is almost a nightmare. So why do I came to this place from time to time? This is not even a restaurant... Oh yes! Now I remember... hundreds of wines and a fabulous staff! They really know a... More

A colleagues told me to go to this winebar when in Lisbon as he loved it. I have to say, I was not disappointed. The owner is very friendly and is helping you choose the right wine by asking what kind of wine you like. We tasted different wines and ended up buying some. You can also have snacks to... More

On the walk up to see the castle in Lisbon it's worthwhile to stop here for a breather and a chance to taste wines from each region of Portugal. It's an attractive spot, and the congenial hosts will inform you in English, Portuguese or Spanish about the country's wines. They served me a selection of cheeses, bread and olives without... More

We stayed in Lisbon for a week in March, just before the season has started. We were planning to visit the Sao Jorge Castle but it has started raining so we have started to walk home when we have realised the small but friendly Wine Bar. It was only 3 tables at a time as it was still quiet time... More
