What can I say? been to a lot of Thai restaurants is this one is by far the best I've ever been to (some in Thailand excluded). Do try and get a table downstairs, cause on some occasions the upper deck can be a bit smelly from the next door kitchen. Personnel is very friendly.

We used to eat here regularly several years ago and visited again on a trip back to Leiden in April 2013. Was not disappointed - the food, service and atmosphere all remain great. We started with soups - the Tom Yam was really spicy - we loved it but be warned! Then shared a variety of main dishes, all of... More

I have no problem recommending this restaurant for its food as we thoroughly enjoyed it. The presentation and flavours were great. However it is a shame the setting is not a little more upmarket. Perhaps it is geared for the student market? However we felt it was not 'student' prices.

I travel a lot, all over the globe. The Thai kitchen is one of my favorites. I tried many a Thai in Europe, from the poshest ones imaginable in London or Paris, down to the smallest shabby ones. The most authentic, best Thai, since a decade, is Sabai Sabai. No doubt. Meanwhile, I have proven this point to many friends... More

very authentic, fresh thai food. the service is amazing, it is always packed so always book it in advance. the restaurant closes at 12 and recommended is: pad thai, prawn red curry and the iced thai tea with icecream dessert. They do not add any alcohol in the food so ideal for individuals with religious limitations as well..

Sabaik-Sabai Thai retuarnt is a very comfortable small restaurant near the center of Leiden. The food is very good, fresh and reseanably priced. My colleague and I were there and had shrip lemon-grass soup, Chicken coconut soup and then spillt a Pad Thai noodle dish and a red chicken curry -- basically down the middle of the road standard Thai... The food in this restaurant was some of the best Thai I've eaten in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. To begin with everything was fine, but as soon as the owner of the restaurant left it deteriorated very quickly. At the end of our meal we had to shout to get the attention of the staff as... More

A great eatery with impressive dishes and nice staff and pleasant atmosphere. It was by far one of the best thai we ever had. The red curry fish had a perfect balance of spiciness, and the yellow curry chicken was an explosion of different tastes, all of them harmonised in a single preparation. The Tom Yam Kung was also very... More
