We just came back from Rome, and I have to admit: the food, the atmosphere, the lifestyle just can't be beat. It's hard to switch back to Dutch weather, Dutch restaurants, Dutch service (???)
BUT there's one exception that helps to keep the sun shining: we haven't been able to find better ice cream in Rome than what Roberto Gelato...

I am an Italian guy living in Utrecht. I lived and visited different places around the world and well, I can ensure you that the icecream of Roberto is the best gelato which I ever tried out of Italy.
Even in Italy this icecrean would be a great one!
So my advise is absolutely to go there and try one...

The ice cream here is incredible. There's a massive choice of flavours and the service is fantastic. My favourite thing about this place though is that you can pop in on your way back from an evening in town as it's open 'til 10pm.
It's a little bit out of the way and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have found...
