We stopped here originally to wait for friends who were in the nearby Anne Frank House Museum but ended up staying for a few hours. To sit outside on a nice dry day is ideal. The food is very good and good value.

This is a great spot to people-watch. Try the croquettes, they are simple but delicious.

Stopped by for a drink and a bite and glad we did. Super place - warm and inviting, friendly service. We had the cheese fondue, which is one of their specialties and glad we did. It was excellent and reasonable. Worth a visit when you are in Amsterdam

This was down the street from Bee's B&B and it was a great spot to land as we nursed our jet lag. We had a tasty bowl of soup, a beer, and one or two grilled sandwiches for about 18 euros. They offered a nice introduction to Dutch food.

We had a lovely light lunch, and - although we wouldn't say the food was astounding, it was very good, hearty Dutch fare.
The real reason you would come to De Prins, though, is the atmosphere. It's a lovely restaurant, the staff are friendly and efficient, and we loved it.

I am sure you could find food of better quality and tastiness elsewhere in Amsterdam, but you will not find one that adds up so well in all areas - portion size, taste, variety of options, price, changing daily specials, etc. served by a friendly wait staff in a cozy brown bar environment.
I go here once in a couple...
