We found this place on tripadvisor and we had a great meal. Next time I visit Amsterdam I will go to this restaurant again. First time to eat goat meat satay, it was fantastic. We had a huge selection of small portions of many dishes from Indonesia and found them very tastey.

I read some reviews and Tempo Doeloe was highly recommended, so went there first. It was full and since we didn't have any reservations and were hungry, we didn't wait and walked up the street and found Tujuh Maret a few doors away. As we felt like some Indonesian food, we went in. Hardly any other customers while we were... More

Me and the boyfriend had looked up this restaurant before our short trip to Amsterdam and had our hearts set on the Indonesian Rijsttafel before we even got there. 24 dishes were brought out in reasonable time, considering there were only 2 ladies staffing the whole place (and kitchen!) and each was explained to us - start with mild and... Just had a decidedly average meal here, totally spoiled by the waiter not understanding that starters come before the main. Ordered soup and a meat starter, to be followed by a seafood and chicken main. The waiter first forgot the order completely, then eventually managed to note it down. This was followed by him coming back to ask a question,... More

There are plenty of good and great indonesian restaurants in Amsterdam..this one is average at best. Big portions, but quantity over quality. Try the place next door instead, it is much better but you will likely need to reserve in advance. This place on the other hand usually has a table or two free...unsurprisingly.

We went there with another couple and none of us had previously tried Indonesian food so we thought it was a good place to start. Some reviews had questioned the service but that aspect didn't disappoint. We received very friendly and attentive service throughout the evening. We ordered rijsttafel for four people and two other dishes to share for all;... More

The restaurant is small and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly but slow and constantly forgot to bring things to the tables. The rijsttafel was tasty, although many dishes had a very similar taste so in a way I asked myself what's the point. I'd suggest you better order a couple of dishes and share them with your partner or... More

We ate here last time we visited Amsterdam in 2009 and enjoyed it so we thought we would try it again and made a reservation. This was a big mistake as the restaurant has gone downhill. Before we sat down my wife gave the manager some candles to be lit and served with dessert as it was my birthday. We... More

We had lunch here on a recommendation from Olive magazine. We had the Rijstafel (mixed dishes with rice) and it was absolutely divine. The service was a little relaxed but if you aren't relaxed in Amsterdam you're probably never going to be! We did have plans for dinner later but we ate so much (literally every scrap) at lunch that... More

We had the selectoion of tapa-size dishes allowing us to sample all the different flavours and ingredients of Indonesian cuisine. I counted 15 dishes, so if you go for dinner, don't have lunch that day! The dishes were presented in a range from mild to spicy, withh good advice on how to eat them (start with the mild ones, of...
