Tables are small and uneven. Food is average, meat OK, the salad was dull. Service is friendly. Drinks are expensive! More

This bistro-style restaurant in located in the "new" market building of Amsterdam, in the location where Rembrant painted one of his paintings. It is fairly near Rembrant house so makes for good continuity. The service was pleasant and attentive, even though it was a busy day. I had lunch there the first time I discovered it - a good sandwich... More

While I can't say Amsterdam is the gastronomical center of Europe, I did have a good dinner here. The ambiance is nice, service was acceptable, and the food was very good despite the limited menu. More

The service was very pleasant and the food arrived without too much of a wait. It was really tasty and well presented. We can recommend the Eggs benedict and the veal croquettes. Perfect place to go for a good atmosphere and quality food in picturesque surroundings. More

my soup of the day had a hair in it (we were a large group of people, so I kept quiet because I did not want to spoil the others' meal). Those (including me) who ordered pan-fried sirloin of beef were unable to eat the leather-consistency meat. The restaurant was too dark and crowded as well. Nothing good in short. More

Excellent place for a drink, in a castle like, historical venue right on new market. Eating is a bit expesive though. More

went here for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. service is poor, as has been oft repeated here, but this is one of the few places in amsterdam where you can get eggs benedict, and it was tasty. eggs were actually only 1 egg, served on a brioche instead of an english muffin, but for 8.50 not too shabby. also de... Ever dined in a place that is over 500 years old? well this is it. The ambiance is great and if the bar isn't too crowded the noise level is ok. The menu is small and prices are ok and the taste is great. Try to get a seat away from the doors though. The dishes are chosen with care... More
