We were taken here by a family member who lives in Amsterdam and the recommendation proved to be spot on. Excellent food and service, an impressive wine list (but on the pricey side) and a great experience overall. Imaginative cooking, great flavors and quality. Perhaps a bit noisy but it comes with the territory. Would we go here again. You... More

We just had a lovely meal at Visaandeschelde. What really sets this restaurant apart is their front of house. Emmanuel was our primary waiter and he was truly fantastic. The chefs menu sounded wonderful (you can get either 3, 4, or 5 courses) as did the special of the day (a crab tail). He offered to swap out one of... More

A little out from the centre but easily walkable or tramable Vis aan de Schelde is truly a star restaurant buy any judgement. We took the four course fixed menu and had a splendid array of interesting dishes, colourful with delicate flavours and textures served by attentive good humoured and thoroughly professional staff. This was the sort of meal that... More

Had a nice meal in one of our old favourites; however service was slow, inconsistent and a bit chaotic at times. We had to ask for the menu after waiting a long while even though the restaurant was still mostly empty on an early weekday evening. The menu is hard to follow and i managed to mis-judge my choice of... More

By the way, the famous Amsterdam vergin herring is not any more from the south sea. It is from the north sea ))) As concerns the Restaurant - make the reservation well in advance - join the multinational crowd of dinning people - enjoy it in full scale. Food is excellent, kitchen is a little bit slow but this confirms... More

Booked this for a nice dinner on our bank holiday trip. The location of the restaurant is strangely next to a roundabout - not much of a view. However, the interior was smart casual and the clientele was mixed (couples, varying ages, families) - it was nice enough. My husband and I decided to opt for the 6 course menu... More

A wonderful evening to start our stay in Amsterdam and we may well go back. The four course tasting menu was superb the wine matched it and the service was helpful without being over-powering.

I dined at the restaurant 2 years ago and had the best meal of my life. I brought my wife specifically to Amsterdam to enjoy this experience with me. I will never hear the end of it though. We literally payed and walked out half way through an 8 course tasting menu. Nothing was edible.....it was HORRIBLE and neither my... More

Seefood is just great with a perfect taste of sofistication that makes the meal a special experience. .. our entree was a taste of different entrees. . Omg! The asian style Oysters... if you come here just ask for the Oysters as main course.. amazing... I think everything you get is good.. and service is 10 points. Our waitress knew... More

What shall we say of a fish restaurant that is not able to show even ONE whole fish ? Easy, such a place is probably supplied in ready-made fish portions by some industrial outfit, and also probably in deep-frozen form judging by the lack of taste of the said fish-filets. Lots of (very good) sauces and veggies try to camouflage... More
