Interesting restaurant, may have to wait a bit but it is worth it. Menu changes everyday - you can read in front door and also have the waiter sitting in your table to recommend and explain. Food was excelent!

No reservations, its just turn up and hope for the best!! Only 2 members of staff serve this intimate restaurant but at the speed they move at you would think there were six of them. No menus the waiters go through what is available that day with you at your table and you can give them ideas what you like...

This kinda of hidden place is actually very close to the main square of Amsterdam. Right at the door there is a chalk board with the daily menu, that changes accordingly to the more fresh ingredients available at the market (good sign). The interior is very romantic and cosy, with candles at every table. The service is really friendly, and...

For our last night in Amsterdam, my husband and I ate dinner at van Kerkwijk, after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. It is a lovely restaurant! The menu changes daily, so the server will read you the options (English was no problem). The service was excellent, the prices were reasonable, and the food was absolutely delicious! It is a small...

Having seen the changes in Amsterdam over the past fifty years, it was a pleasure to find this popular unchanged establishment with charming staff and good food and drink at modest prices. We enjoyed a massive salmon salad and a chicken sandwich for a late lunch: its crowded at normal mealtimes and there are no reservations. The menu is on...

Salmon was excellent as was the house wine. Better to be early as it is a small restaurant.

May be because it is not located on the touristic path that Van Kerkwijk has kept its charm and quality with reasonable prices.
It is almost always full in any weather and any season so better to come before the standard dinner times and have a beer or wine.
Additional + factor for girls - charming "walking menu" guys working...

We stumbled upon this gem of a place less than 2 minutes from Dam Square. Full of locals, so not a rip off tourist trap.
There were no menus, but the staff knew everything. Food was fantastic, Cakes were great - all homemade. Great Coffee, and excellent atmosphere. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who wants a bite to...
